Concept
Unlike classic quadrocopters, the device uses an original bicopter scheme with two rotary thrusters.
This architecture allows you to:
- reduce the number of power plants;
- reduce the level of acoustic visibility;
- increase energy efficiency;
- reduce the dimensions of the structure;
- maintain high maneuverability.
Special attention was paid to the reliability of the power circuit and the stability of the device in various flight modes.
Design
During the project, a full-fledged three-dimensional CAD model of the structure was developed.
The works included:
- design of the supporting frame;
- development of the rotary engine mechanism;
- layout of internal nodes;
- optimization of the mass of the structure;
- integration of management systems;
- preparation of the product for the production of a prototype.
The design was developed taking into account the manufacturability and further modernization of the platform.
Advantages
Due to the chosen layout, the device is able to effectively perform tasks in conditions where the use of classic multicopters is limited.
The platform is job-oriented:
- in woodlands;
- in urban areas;
- inside buildings and structures;
- in confined spaces;
- when performing reconnaissance and inspection tasks.
The compact size and reduced noise make the device less noticeable and more convenient to operate in a complex environment.
Features
- original bicopter aerodynamic design;
- the mechanism of rotary thrusters;
- Compact and lightweight design;
- optimized internal layout;
- reduced acoustic visibility;
- preparation of the design for the production of a prototype.
Result
As a result of the project, an engineering CAD model of a promising unmanned aerial vehicle with a bicopter circuit was developed. The project has confirmed the possibility of creating a compact platform with high maneuverability, low noise and enhanced application capabilities in difficult operating conditions.
Project Feature
This project shows well that our studio RENDERWORKS is capable of working not only with traditional designs, but also with promising aviation schemes. Instead of adapting existing solutions, a new platform with original kinematics and architecture was developed, where attention was paid not only to appearance, but also to aerodynamics, mechanics of turning units, equipment layout and manufacturability. It is such projects that demonstrate the studio's expertise in the field of applied engineering research and the development of innovative unmanned systems.
