Underwater Inspection Drone

Подводный

For the Oceanica project, our studio has developed an industrial design for an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV). The project included a full cycle of work — from finding a concept and creating a variety of appearance options to developing a fully developed CAD model ready for engineering implementation.

Underwater Inspection Drone

The project began with a study of various architectural variants of the underwater vehicle. At an early stage, a large number of conceptual sketches and quick three-dimensional models were created, which made it possible to evaluate the various proportions of the hull, the location of the propellers, the shape of the protective shell and the nature of the future product.

The main task was to find a design that would simultaneously meet engineering requirements, be technologically advanced in production and form a modern recognizable image of a professional underwater vehicle.

After selecting the final concept, our team began to develop the product in detail. A full-fledged parametric CAD model of the hull was created, taking into account the internal layout of the equipment, the placement of electronics, the sealing system, the propulsion mounts, cameras and navigation modules.

Special attention was paid to the hull design. All elements were designed taking into account manufacturing technology, ease of assembly, maintenance and the possibility of further modernization of the platform. Due to this, industrial design was immediately developed as part of an engineering design, rather than as a separate decorative shell.

As a result, a complete digital engineering project was created, combining industrial design, body construction and the internal architecture of the device.

Project Features

  • study of several design options;
  • industrial design development;
  • creation of a large number of concepts;
  • optimization of the equipment layout;
  • design of a sealed enclosure;
  • integration of thrusters and control modules;
  • development of a parametric CAD model;
  • preparation of the structure for further production.

Project result

A modern industrial design of the underwater vehicle has been developed and a fully developed CAD model has been created, taking into account the internal layout, design features and manufacturing requirements. The project formed the engineering basis for further product development and production.
